Kovu arrived at the shelter in April 2026 from Drniš together with his siblings, after they lost their mother and were left to fend for themselves. He is now safe and waiting for the opportunity for his new beginning.

Kovu is a Belgian Shepherd mixed breed, and we expect him to grow into a medium to large dog. He is still very small and sensitive, and is currently calm, a bit insecure, and just getting used to his new surroundings. Behind his caution lies a gentle and sweet character that will come to the fore with the right care and love.

Having grown up without a mother, Kovu especially needs warmth, attention and early socialization to develop properly. That is why a temporary placement or a home full of patience and tenderness would mean a lot to him and help him grow into a stable and happy dog.

Kovu is at the NO KILL shelter Animalis Centrum, where he has a health plan and is receiving the necessary veterinary care. When he reaches the appropriate age, he will be fully vetted, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and given an ownership book/passport.

The animals under our care are adopted in Croatia and internationally - the most important thing for us is that they find a safe, warm and stable home.❤️
